As has been mentioned Will Flood is sadly leaving the RAMS family to return to the U.S. for work, before he does we need to give him a quality RAMS send off.

To The Newport Rams Family:

Last Wednesday I was notified that my employment in Australia will come to an end much earlier than anticipated when I moved here in October 2013. The end result is that I will return back to the US sometime in the next few weeks. The good news for me is I do have a job waiting on me back in the US so I am grateful for that as I know others are not as lucky.

I would like to thank you all for being so welcoming and inviting me into your community. I am extremely lucky that I happened to work with one of your Life Members, Peter Cassell, and he told me about this great club to come and play baseball. When I agreed to play, I really just thought that I was signing up to play baseball once in a while and get some exercise. I had no idea what a wonderful family and community atmosphere I was going to be stepping into.

I am terribly disappointed that I am not going to be a part of the upcoming season as I was really looking forward to it and see the great potential the Rams have for the upcoming year. However, I am more disappointed that I have to leave the wonderful Rams community. I will miss playing, watching, and umpiring baseball with you all and especially miss the chats around a beer or two.

You all should be very proud of your club. I know I couldn’t have found a better place to spend my Sundays in the summer.

I apologize for having to do this in a letter but I am unsure of my schedule in the upcoming weeks. In a perfect world I’d get to see all of you and show you my gratitude and thanks in person. Hopefully, I get to see many of you before I head back home but for those who I don’t, please know that I am forever grateful for the opportunity to play at Newport, but more grateful for the wonderful family that welcomed me in and made me one of their own. In short, you all are Awesome!

Thanks Again, I will miss you all, hopefully I’ll be back in the future.
